We know that leaving your new baby for the first time can be overwhelming. The volunteers in our infant classrooms have been chosen for this age group because of their love for babies & their training to care for all of the needs of your infant.

  • What to bring: diapers, bottles, pacifiers & any special items that will soothe your baby through the service (please label all items).
  • Let our volunteers know any details concerning feeding & napping schedules.
  • We adhere to a 1:3 volunteer-to-child ratio in our infant & crawler classrooms.

It is our joy to introduce little ones to their Heavenly Father. We want them to know:

God loves me. God made me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Every month we focus on one of these three key truths. Each week, your child will learn a Bible story & participate in fun, creative activities that teach the key truth for the month.

  • If your child is potty training, please communicate that to the teachers & bring an extra change of clothes.
  • Volunteers are not allowed in the bathrooms alone with children but will assist them with clothing (as needed) outside the door & hand washing inside the classroom.
  • We provide snacks each week (usually Goldfish crackers). When we are serving something new, you will see a note posted on the door of the classroom.
  • If your child has any allergies or special dietary needs & cannot eat what we have provided, please inform the teachers & bring appropriate snacks.
  • Please label all items that belong to your children.

Kids are challenged every weekend to trust God, make wise choices & build lasting friendships. Here’s what a typical day at ACFkids looks like:

  • Welcome: Each child is greeted by his/her small group leader(s).
  • Large-Group Time: All kids gather together for a Bible story and worship.
  • Small-Group Time: Kids break out in small groups where their leaders help them understand how the day’s lesson can fit into their everyday lives. Small-group leaders in ACFkids are passionate about having fun & teaching the TRUTH. Every weekend they connect with the same group of kids & group leader.

I'm new! What do I need to know?

Pre-Register

When you visit ACFkids for the first time, you'll be asked to fill out a Family Information Form to help us get to know your kids and any specific needs they may have. This information will be entered into our computers & kept private. You can fill out the form in advance & submit the info online to save time on Sunday morning.

What to Expect

Upon arrival, our ACFkids staff will greet you, get your kids checked in & escort them to their classroom. Every child (even the youngest) experiences a time of large-group teaching & worship led by our outstanding ACFkids Worship Team & Storytellers. Kids of all ages also experience a small-group time where they are cared for & discipled by a committed small group leader.

Infants through Kinder meet in their own classrooms & enjoy crafts, activities & a snack during their time in ACFkids. 1st-5th graders are divided into small groups by grade & gender (ex: 1st grade girls).

Safety

At ACFkids, your child's safety is our top priority. When you drop off your children on Sunday mornings, you will receive printed name tags for each child in addition to Security ID receipts that are required to pick up your children after service. Each receipt has a random code specific to your family & our volunteers will check those codes to ensure that your children are only picked up by you. All ACFkids volunteers must complete screening forms & criminal background checks before working with our kids.

Special Needs

If your child requires special attention or has specific needs (such as food allergies, a learning disability, or unique circumstances at home), please or call our ACFkids team at (512) 381-5714 so we can best meet the needs of your child.

We seek to give each child with special needs the opportunity to participate in the same activities as the other kids. If needed or desired, we can also designate a volunteer to be the "Friend" of each child with special needs and to assist them.
