ACFkids Preventing and Reporting Child Abuse at ACF
As an ACFkids volunteer, I have read and agree with the following statements and will strive to follow these guidelines in order to ensure the safety and protection of both our kids and our volunteers.
I will submit to a criminal background check prior to serving in ACFkids. (Or, I am under age 18.)
I will follow the "Rule of 3", making sure that I am never alone with a child without another person present.
When taking a child to the bathroom, I will have another person present at all time. If I need to enter the restroom to help the child, the door will be left open for the other person to see in.
I will not allow a child to sit directly on my lap. Children will be asked to sit on the knee or beside the adult/leader.
I will not use inappropriate language with a child or with another adult while serving in ACFkids.
I will not grab, shake, hit or otherwise injure a child or another person while serving in ACFkids.
I will not take and post pictures of children while serving in ACFkids.
If I suspect that a child or adult is being abused, I will report this to the ACFkids pastor, who will report this to Child Protective Services. I will not discuss the suspected abuse with any other persons.
