Comfort the Sick
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

An ACF women’s small group wanted to make a difference. They reached out to the Heart Gift of Austin and learned that a little girl from Nigeria named Precious was on her way to Austin to receive a critical heart operation as a gift from doctors and hospitals through the Heart Gift of Austin. The host family lived in Steiner Ranch and was eager to have helpers provide meals and love to Precious and her mom. The women, child, mother and host family formed a beautiful bond over the month that Precious was in Austin. The Small group held a shower at ACF for Precious and her family back in Nigeria. (Even the bright pink coat she’s wearing in her picture!) It was a rewarding, Godly experience for all! Consider joining the Heart Gift of Austin as a host family. To find out more, visit HeartGift.

Care Communities: Care Teams – This organization creates care teams of 4-6 volunteers who provide non-medical, compassionate support for those living with cancer or HIV/AIDS. Their vision is for no one to face a serious illness alone. Care Team members might go grocery shopping, clean, provide child or pet care, or just serve as a listening ear to support clients during their illness. Each Care Team member is asked to commit to 4 hours each month. To learn how you can become a Care Team member, contact Jessica Hager, Outreach Associate, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
