Our Timeline

In the early 1990s Senior Pastor, Will Davis, Jr. was working on his doctorate and pastoring a church in Ft. Worth. During this season Will and his wife, Susie, had an itch to do two things - to get back to Austin, and to start a church that was different. Will wanted to be a part of a church that focused on the person of Jesus Christ, without any denominational baggage. He also wanted to preach messages that were credible and relevant - answering questions about Christ that people were actually thinking and asking. In the summer of '93 the Davises headed back to Austin to start Austin Christian Fellowship. Our name was chosen to reflect a church with a heart for Austin, a desire to be distinctly Christian, and an emphasis on authentic relationships.

ACF's first official Sunday service was January 16, 1994. The church has met in several different Austin locations over the years: Austin Community College theatre, a black office building on Loop 360 near Bee Caves, Cedar Creek Elementary school in Westlake, Hill Country Middle School, Steiner Ranch Elementary, and our current Four Points campus. In addition, we now have ACF communities in Brushy Creek, the Northwest Hills area, Lakeway, Round Rock, and Hutto (coming soon). Throughout it all, our mission has remained the same - to enable the seeker of purpose, meaning and truth to know, love and serve Jesus Christ.
