Online Giving FAQs
How Do I Give Online?
Go to the Online Giving page and follow the instructions there.
Is Online Giving Secure?
Yes. Your banking and credit card information will only be stored on a secure server that meets all federal data encryption guidelines. Our merchant account provider is Axia.
Can I Give Online if I Do Not Attend ACF?
Yes. On the About Online Giving page we have created a way for friends of ACF to give online. You will simply need to register as a Non-Attender by using the appropriate button.
How Do I Know if my Online Gift was Processed?
After giving online you will immediately receive a confirmation email to the email address for which you are registered for My ACF. You will see this gift posted to your Giving History within one business day. In addition, you will continue to receive annual contribution statements in the mail that will contain all your recorded gifts no matter how they were given.
Can I Set Up my Online Giving to be Recurring?
Yes. Your gift can be one time only or recurring. For recurring gifts, click on the "Recurring" box and then choose the frequency you want: weekly, every two weeks, monthly or every three months. You can choose the number of payments or give the date of the last transaction. And of course you can modify your scheduled giving at any time.
What Are the Benefits of Setting Up Recurring Online Giving?
There are many:
· It helps simplify your life…no trying to remember if you’ve given this month.
· It is biblical…you decide how you are going to give ahead of time (1 Cor. 16:2).
· It allows you to give consistently…even when you’re not in church.
Doesn’t Online Giving Diminish Giving as an act of Worship?
We don’t think so, but the choice is yours. If you are accustomed to placing your gifts in the Grace Gift bowl during worship, you may wonder if an online gift will have the same spiritual significance. We believe it is the heart of the giver, not the method of giving, that makes our financial offerings a true act of worship.
Will I Still Receive My Contribution Statement in the Mail?
Yes. ACF will continue to mail annual contribution statements before January 31 of each year.
Does ACF participate in charitable company-matching programs?
Yes, ACF is a 501c3 and therefore is eligible to receive funds from charitable company-matching programs. If you or your company is interested in including ACF in your company's program, please contact Lori Oertli in the ACF accounting office at 512-381-5717.
Can I Designate How My Online Gift is to Used?
The ACF Board of Directors accepts designated giving so long as the designation is already in the ACF budget. If you would like to designate how your gift is to be used, please explain in the text box corresponding to your online gift. All gifts currently go into the ACF General Fund.
Can I Give through my "Last Will and Testament?"
Yes, and please consult with an estate planning specialist. Suggested language you can use in your Last Will and Testament is "I give, devise and bequeath to Austin Christian Fellowship, a Texas non-profit corporation (tax exemption 74-2663285), presently located at 6401 River Place Blvd., Austin, TX, 78730, the following xxxxxx." Please contact Lori Oertli in the ACF accounting office at 512-381-5717 for more details.
Can I Contribute to ACF via a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT)?
Yes, and please contact your estate or tax planning specialist. CRTs allow one to generate income from a gift while they are still alive. After death, the church gets the corpus (remainder). It's a great way to gift highly appreciated assets into a trust, thereby, one forgoes paying tax on the gain. Please contact Lori Oertli in the ACF accounting office at 512-381-5717.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call Lori Oertli at the church office at 512-381-5717.
